...And by the time you walk down the aisle, the hardest part of the day is behind you. It happened in a hotel room at six in the morning, with your mom asking whether you've eaten anything, your phone going off on the counter, and somebody's dress still needing a steam. That room is where I work. How calm it feels in there has a way of deciding how the rest of the day goes.

I started this as a makeup artist with one client, and that was the whole business for about a month. I have a supply chain degree from Texas A&M and I'd spent a couple of years in front of the camera before I ever worked behind one, so none of it was the plan. I have the word leap tattooed on my forearm. It's more or less how I make decisions.

I've hired every artist on our team myself, one at a time. I look at their work, obviously. But what I'm really watching is how they are when the timeline starts slipping.

Phil I met on Bumble. He grew up in Lubbock, spent years making content and running ads for other people's brands, and had come to San Antonio for a tech startup. When we decided to build a life together he picked up a video camera for us, and photography came after. We married in 2024, so we've been on your side of this now.

Which is how you end up with one team instead of three. The people getting you ready, the person photographing you, the person filming. We've worked the same weddings for years. Nobody's introducing themselves in your room while you're trying to get dressed.

When we're not working we're usually training. Phil coaches CrossFit, I run long distance, and we're both signed up for the San Antonio Marathon. Everything after that belongs to our two boys.
